LeBron Raymone James Sr., born December 30, 1984 is an American professional basket ball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely considered one of the greatest players ever to play and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player ever. James has won two Olympic gold medals and won four NBA titles. James has scored more points in the playoffs, has had the second highest number of career points, and has the seventh-highest number of career assists. James has been named by the NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected as a member of The NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. James has played in the ten NBA Finals the third most of all time, with eight games in succession between 2011 and 2018. James joined his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, James became the very first NBA player to earn 10,000 points in his career. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron Ohio and was heavily advertised by national media as a future NBA superstar. James was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the top player in the NBA draft in 2003. In 2004, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year, he soon established himself as one of the league's premier players, winning his NBA MVP award twice in 2009 and 2010. James did not win a title with Cleveland and left the city to become a "free agent" in 2010. This decision was made by the television show The Decision.
